Efficient processing of Brannerite ores

Rorie Gilligan has identified that there is a growing need for low carbon sources such as renewables and nuclear fission and  the metals needed for these technologies often occur together. Rare earth elements used to construct wind turbines and other renewable energy technologies are often found with uranium and thorium used to fuel nuclear reactors.

Protecting your potatoes: The caterpillar-killing parasitoid wasps

Erinn is collecting wasps from all over Australia and describing new species, using their DNA to help understand the evolution and relationships among the wasp species. She is also running a citizen science project, asking people to rear caterpillars that they find in their backyard or local park and send any parasitoids they find.
